This morning involved reasoning in maths and literacy.
In literacy we had to pick a new toy for the gorilla to play with.
Did you think about what the Gorilla wanted Charlie to do whilst trapped in the cage as you chose the toy?
What makes the toy a better option to play with than Charlie?
In maths we were again thinking about time and making sure we understand what each hand meant? Some of us got closer to mastery and had to use extra skills to work out what time it would be in an hour or 2 hours time.
Can you tell the times on all the clocks?
Do any clocks say the same time?
Which clock does NOT show an o’clock time? How do you know this?
We decided to make verbal entries into our diary this monirmg showing how we tried to persuade the gorilla to let us go.
Can you remember any techniques you used to try and persuade him?
Did you hear examples of these techniques in the videos?
What a fabulous day!
We learnt lots of interesting facts about the animals, heard about deforestation and most of us faced our fears and held animals that might’ve scared us.
Take a look at the worksheet below. Can you work out the missing numbers?
Have a look at the numbers you started ordering on Friday.
Can you spot any mistakes? How do you know it’s wrong?
Can you explain why you put the numbers where you did? E.g. How did you know yo put 98 near the end of the 100 square?
Thai morning we weee joined by Magnetic Milla from fun science. She showed us loads of amazing experiments.
Which was you favourite experiment and why?
This morning we spotted something, when we went into the meeting room to work something was wrong.
Chairs had been thrown over and slime left on Lilly pads.
We quickly became detectives to try and find out who did it.
What do you think and why? How might we find out more information?
This morning we completed one of our learning journeys.
After drafting and drawing storymaps we then used peer feedback to improve our work ready to write a final draft.
The final stage was to imitate Charlie Small and Diary of a Wimpy Kid to create a diary entry.
What do you think?
